 | POP loh! | Mar 28, '08 11:46 AM for everyone |
Today marked another significant milestone in my NS life as I finally passed out as a force protection trooper in Changi air base. Thinking back, these 3 months felt so much faster compared to life in tekong. Made alot of new friends here, too bad a number of them will be re-coursing and therefore will be posted to other bases.
Hopefully I get to be a V200 tank operator once i get my posting on thurs. Right now I'll just enjoy my mini holiday until thurs. cya!
 | Posting | Dec 25, '07 6:31 PM for everyone |
Morning! It's 0730 in the morning and I'm getting ready to go to my new posting. Been posted to the Field defense squadron as a air force rp at Changi Air Base for another 3 mth training. Cya~ :D
Today, I am no longer the lowest lifeform in Tekong, I am finally a Private! This photo was taken on my ferry ride back to SFT. Cant believe I actually feel like returning now after my 3-month struggle to leave this island. Tekong has almost been like a second home to me. Sad to say is, just when we are so used to the place, its time to leave. :(
Graduation parade was cool as my mother put on the jockey cap on me. A great sense of acheievement dawned upon me as I left the island taking photos with fellow buddies and shaking hands with the commanders who used to "torture" us. Any sense of unhappiness with the commanders are quickly forgotten as they wish us all the best with a firm handshake. The best thing is to shake hands with my commando CSM "Master Ling"! I really appreciate all the training the commanders had provided me.
Thinking back, when I first arrived as a civilian, life was horrid. Time seem to crawl, everyday feels like 3 civilian days. Had a tough time adjusting to a new bed and a new diet. Luckily my social network is relatively big and I could spot quite a few familiar faces. But due to scrict regimentation, there was little time to talk to friends.
But soon time files and the first two weeks passed. It felt like an eternity and home actually felt so alien after being away for so long. My first book out was quite special and it just feels like yesterday.
Anyway the following some of the memorable experiences I had.
1) Setting and sleeping in a basha, and it rained the whole night.
2) Escaping the 2nd rainy night as I was out for guard duty! LOL, hid in a training shack before it rained. Heng!
3) My misfire during live range.
4) Two of my confinements. :X
5) Area cleaning :D
6) The jacab ladder! Damn scared of heights!
7) Performing during OC nite
8) Digging a shellscrape out of mud. Actually took 2 damned days to dig! CB, yes i know it could be done in 45 mins...but hell...
9) The 24 km route march. Well I only did 16 click as I missed the previous 16 click. The first 8 clicks of the 24 was under a storm. Cant forget that!
10) Fixing the pouches unto my LBV.
11) My first botak haircut and my first private haircut.
12) Meeting my SGT for the first time.
13) My live grenade throw.
14) Pooping halfway in the jungle and it rained! >D
15) Meeting the "friendly" platoon female ghost and found her LONG hair on my bed! SERIOUS!
16) Waiting to rush and rushing to wait. LOL
Alright, just remembered these few. Would like to extend my gratitude to the following commanders, sgt Au yong, Prabu, Wei Jie, MeL and nick. The special thanks to my 2 great PC Sir Khyrul and Sir Wei qiang! Wishing Platoon 4 all the best for the coming posting.
Thank you Pegasus Coy for the golden memories, this is Private Maxi, signing off!

Finally it's over! After sleeping at 4am and waking everyday at 9am to edit, its finally over! Wahaha...so glad thay my finaly year project has ended and I can finally relax and go back to my bcm days. Hehe, submitted my project at 11am sharp this morning along with it's documentation, I'm glad that I did something worthwhile to end off my 3 years of polytechnic studies. I'll be taking a break for CNY and will be going straight to do the director's cut version of Ninpochu. Featuring refined SFX and dubbing, as well as better soundtracks and a 30 min long behind the scene footage.
I also hope to organise the talents and do an studio interview will be will be released along with the DVD. Next would be the official ninpochu wallpapers and screenshots which will be released with the DVD and on the Caesar's newsletter.
Thus, the Directors cut DVD contains the following:
1) Ninpochu Trailer
2) Ninpochu the movie
3) Behind the scenes
4) Interview with the producers and cast
5) Gallery
To aska-chan *INSERT SCREENSHOTS OF ME SURPING BCM* thanks
I was doing a random search on google on the keywords "85 ba chor mee" and I was pretty surprised to see alot of results! My bad sore throat and reduced speech was a result of much late nite suppers consisting of stingrays, fried oyster omelettes,"ah ballings" and not forgetting the Godly BCM. No regrets man! I think for the whole 3 weeks of production and stay overs at Fred's den, only God knows how many bowls of BCM had I consumed. So if you're feeling hungry now and dunno wad to eat, just head down to bedok blk 85 and grab a bowl of BCM and eat it! All for the Fats!
Ok...now for a review of a typical bowl of $2 BCM at 85's. Alright, for this kinda BCM, I think only 85's serve this kind of special BCM, so u cant get this anywhere else in Singpore. I'll investigate the mysteries of the prowess of it, layer by layer.
The BCM comes in a small bowl, nicely presented with chopped chillis sprinkled on top of the mee. A $2 bowl comes with 4 pork balls, which are nice, chewy and of cos TASTY. Not too hard and stink. Sometimes when you eat a normal fishball mee somewhere else, the fishballs or meat balls are not fresh and stink a little, BUT this never happens in 85's BCM.
K, so after finishing those balls, you go to the mee. The noodles used are "mee kia", the smaller version of "mee pok". The noodles are springy and never soggy. Always surp em up with along the the soup and a slice of chilli and you will have a minute in heaven.
At the bottom of the bowl, you'll be surprised to find nice and soft minced meat. These minced meat are so soft that they MELT in your mouth when you take em with a spoonful of soup. You cant find this kinda minced meat anywhere else. Damn, I could just take a cab down to 85 now!

Finally... our shoot is finished. Finally I can take a short breath before heading on to more work. It has been a pleasure to work with all of my cast and crew. It has been my honour to meet a sincere and disciplined bunch like you guys. Words cannot express my gratitude for all the sacrifices you guys made, thus the best way to thank you guys is to finish the movie well.
Alright, basically now I'll head to post production where I'll edit the footages and the sound files. Freddy will be designing the wallpapers and posters for the film as well as the dubbing. We have engaged a band to compose several tracks for our film. There will be a total of 3 or 4 tracks in total.
1) Fighting theme
2) Another fighting theme
3) Emo tunes
4) Ninpochu rap for the credits
LOL....i think the ninpochu rap is gonna be damn fun! Fred is gonna do some beatbox while one of his friends will be rapping perhaps with douglas in the background rapping "shashiburidana".
Damn I'm excited!
Alright, these are the schedule for the upcoming shoot.
Monday: costume rental for the villagers at bugis, no.1 costumes. 32 Aliwal Street S199922 Tel 6341 7226
Tuesday: Shoot at Sentosa's Asian civilasation, near the ferry terminal. Scenes to be shot: the village massacre in the afternoon and opening scenes and opening fights in the evening.
Wednesday: Doug vs Aska scene in the evening. We still sourcing out a medium Japanese room to film this fight. Please recommend one if you have on in mind as were desperately looking for one.
Thurs: 20 men fight scene in the Old Japanese School dojo in Changi.
Ok. We are looking for a portable soundproof generator for the shoot on tues as there's no power supply in Sentosa. Sponsors are most welcomed.
Halelujah! Sentosa called me this early and sleepy morning on my mobile and told me my request to use the location was granted! But as the place was locked as it will be soon be handed over to another party to be made as an integrated resort, lets all pray hard that our actual shoot and our reshoots will all be done before they hand over the place! Pray hard!!!
[Intro:] Yeah..Uh In the name of Jesus (thats right) No weapon formed against me shall prosper (preach) And every tongue that shall rise against me in judgment thou shalt condemn (preach) (Lord give me a sign) For this is the heritage of the servants of the Lord (preach) and their righteousness is of me, saith the Lord. [Verse 3:] Life or death Live or die I will never live a lie I'm going there cause I try I wont quit until I die I'm gone make it wrong or right Make it through the darkest night When the morning comes you'll see All I have is God in me (Lord give me a sign!)
[Outro:] No weapon formed against me shall prosper For this is the heritage of the servants of the Lord In the name of Jesus Lord give me a sign Amen
 | The Race | Dec 1, '06 11:29 AM for everyone |
Can you imagine when the race is won.
Turn our golden faces into the sun.
Praising our leaders and getting in tune.
Sadly, tonight is not my night.
But I gained more then I lost.
I gained the trust and respect from people I never would expected. Through my preparation of my match, I also drew nearer to God. I met and made new friends and people. I cleaned up my diet and shed all those unhealthy pounds. I never knew fighting on a live audience would be so exciting and I extend my thanks to those who supported me on the event.
I reached the venue around 4.30 for my check-up and I saw some dudes from the Dragon Muay thai gym. I was guessing who my opponent was and I was feeling really nervous! Finally I got to know who he was and I admit I was fucking nervous!
My fight was supposed to start at 6pm but it was postponed to 630pm then 700pm. I did an interview and it was pretty long, it was quite an emotional interview and the organisers and cameramen applauded after listening to my story. After that I had an interview with a journalist from a men's magazine, couldn't remember what magazine was it for as my mind was filled up with so much thoughts.
As I thought my fight would began at 6 or 7, my last meal was at 2.30pm so as to allow digestion. But now its 8 plus and all the protein and carbo I've consumed is all depleted! Luckily doug and bolo bought me a hotdog and I try to eat as much as I can. Jitters are around me and I'm going to the toilet like crazy!
Just as I thought its my turn to go up the cage and start fighting, it turned up to be some demo muay thai match. Then I pumped myself up again to go, and it turned up to be the ring gals parade! I pumped myself to enter again and then it turned out to be the introduction of the organisers. Finally came my match!
My opponent was an 18 year old, heaiver, taller and more muscular then myself. If you want to know how he looks like, he looks alot like Ryo Chonan! So comes his entrance and ALOT of people cheered, mostly members of the dragon gym where he came from and where the event was held.
Here comes my turn and even before my name was announced,I could heard people jeering and booing. But I don't give a damn as when God is with me, who can be against me? So my name was announced and I did my nunchuku kata, now i began to hear people cheering for me! People whom I don't even know! Shouts of "NINJA!" "NINJAMAXI" "MAX" and "MAXI" was all over the place! Soon the cheers over took the jeers and everybody is ready to see my match. I grabbed my mask off my face, threw it off into the crowd and ran to the cage. I was stopped my the gate guard for a quick check on my face and eyes, after a soft knock on my groin to check weather was my groinie guard there, I entered the cage. I jogged around the cage and spoked in tongues, I could really feel the Holy spirit pumping me up. I took off my jacket and threw it to the gate guard.
I cant remember much of the match but I could still remember some of the moments. There is part where he gave me a low kick to my thigh and i returned him one too, and he winced. Other then that was some fast clinches and punches to the face. His mouth was pretty bruised up and suddenly everything went black and I was on the ground. In my guard position, I taunted him to play ground with me but he didnt dare. Soon I was told to stand up and the match was over. The referee said my eyes and legs are shaky and wobblily and I couldn't continue. Thats it, my match is over in the first round! So did most of the matches, if not all of them. One of the organisers told me " you know what you are now? You are now a professional fighter ranked under the official KOTC!"
Well, thinking back, I never regreted joining kotc. I got to face alot of mental demons, personal and financial problems, school work, busy schedules, training, negative comments etc etc. But I defeated them all. I think my problems are more scary then the match itself! After the match, I think I came out as a stronger person and a better man. I hope I continue to train hard and to be a more humble person and a better fighter.
In conclusion, I'll like to thank those that helped me along the way. Be it training with me, buying me food, giving me a lift home or giving moral support. Thank you all.
I hope that you guys can remember the first fighter that fought in the first MMA competition and match held in singapore wasn't from any fancy gym or trainer filled club. He was from a humble CC in Sengkang and he chose to believe in himself and God that he can make it. Good night my friends!

Doug intro this song to me and i find the lyrics are really meaningful. haha...
Lets dance in style, lets dance for a while Heaven can wait were only
watching the skies Hoping for the best but expecting the worst Are you
going to drop the bomb or not?
Let us die young or let us live
forever We dont have the power but we never say never Sitting in a
sandpit, life is a short trip The musics for the sad men
Can you
imagine when this race is won Turn our golden faces into the sun Praising
our leaders were getting in tune The musics played by the
madmen
Forever young, I want to be forever young Do you really want to
live forever, forever and ever
Some are like water, some are like the
heat Some are a melody and some are the beat Sooner or later they all will
be gone Why dont they stay young
Its so hard to get old without a
cause I dont want to perish like a fading horse Youth is like diamonds in
the sun And diamonds are forever
So many adventures couldnt happen
today So many songs we forgot to play So many dreams are swinging out of
the blue We let them come true

The pathway to achievement is never without trouble.
Often, the level of opposition determines the value of a mission.
Accept trouble on the pathway as the norm.
You may fail and make a mistake.
It's all part of the journey.
The worst moments can become your greatest days.
You'll emerge on the other side wiser and stronger.
Don't be bothered with people's bad opinions.
Time will pass and when you're still standing, even your enemies will speak well of you.
Anione hu's interested in acquiring an 8-piece shinobigatana? this is a really limited item and there are only 17 in the whole of singapore. it includes the sword with tempered stainless steel razor sharp black blade, 2 shaken, 1 hidden kozuka, 1 knuckle-duster, and 2 shuriken. blade is in superb condition, no rust has every touched it as it has been lovingly maintained for years. the tip of the saya can be removed to turn it into a breathing tube or for easy access to hidden weapons. The whole sword is constructed with modern materials ensuring its long storage lifespan, requiring little maintainance. The sword was bought for $399 but i'm now selling it for $300. Would never part with it if not for my other committments. there are pictures of it in my friendster album so if anyone's interested can go take a look. i'll leave u my contact in case anyone's interested. 90902745 Aaron. cash and carry at city-hall mrt.
When I listen to this lyrics, it seems to be talking abt me.
Iris
And Id give up forever to touch you cause I know that you feel me somehow Youre the closest to heaven that ill Ever be And I dont want to go home right now
And all I can taste is this moment And all I can breathe is your life cause sooner or later its over I just dont want to miss you tonight
And I dont want the world to see me cause I dont think that theyd Understand When everythings made to be broken I just want you to know who I am
And you cant fight the tears that aint Coming Or the moment of truth in your lies When everything feels like the movies Yeah you bleed just to know youre alive
And I dont want the world to see me cause I dont think that theyd Understand When everythings made to be broken I just want you to know who I am
And I dont want the world to see me cause I dont think that theyd Understand When everythings made to be broken I just want you to know who I am
And I dont want the world to see me cause I dont think that theyd Understand When everythings made to be broken I just want you to know who I am
I just want you to know who I am I just want you to know who I am I just want you to know who I am
The sun, a red dot in the hazy sky.
I Jog down the long and lonely path.
No one can understand why.
But they put all their hopes and dreams on me.
Time goes by so slowly.
Each step I take, I move closer to my goal.
The pain no one but God knows.
He keeps me safe and keeps me strong.
A one man army.
Going to war.
